We're on the south side of Court Street between Carroll and President — four blocks from the Carroll Street F/G, and a short walk from the B57 bus. Here's everything you need to plan the trip.
Take the F or G train to Carroll Street. Walk north on Smith Street one block, then turn left onto Carroll Street and continue four blocks west to Court. Total walk: about 8 minutes. The Smith-Ninth Street station (F, G) puts you on the other end of Court — a flat 15-minute walk straight down Court Street past the brownstones.
The B57 runs along Court Street and stops directly in front of the diner at Court / Carroll — look for the awning. The B61 runs along Smith Street two blocks east and connects to Downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg, and Red Hook. Both routes run frequently, including weekends.
Metered street parking is available along Court Street and the cross streets (Carroll, President, First Place). Most meters run to 7 PM weekdays; Sunday is free citywide. On peak brunch weekends we suggest giving yourself an extra 10 minutes — the corner spots turn over fastest. Don't block the fire hydrant on the Carroll Street side.
We're step-free from the sidewalk — a single grade-level entry on Court Street, with wide booths and aisle tables for wheelchairs and strollers. The restrooms are on the main floor, no stairs required. Bike rack out front on the Carroll Street side; the Gowanus waterfront and Carroll Park are both a five-minute walk for a post-meal stroll.
The Marinelli family has been running this counter since 1998, and the way we welcome guests hasn't really changed. Walk-ins are always welcome — there are 18 stools at the counter, six booths by the front window, and a back room that opens up for families on weekend mornings. Coffee is on the house while you wait, and you'll see us seating people in the order they arrive. We don't do buzzer systems or app check-ins. Just a host at the door with a menu and a smile.
The diner is family-friendly from the ground up: high chairs, a kids' menu with smaller portions of pancakes, eggs, and grilled cheese, and a corner booth with enough room for a stroller. Our entrance, restrooms, and main dining room are wheelchair accessible — there's a ramp at the Court Street door and an accessible restroom past the counter. Service animals are always welcome. If there's anything we can do to make your visit easier, just let us know when you call.
Open seven days a week, 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM. Last call for the kitchen is 9:30 PM on weeknights and 9:45 PM on weekends. Breakfast is served all day — yes, all day, every day, since the first morning we opened.
Three times a month, our line cooks roll out the griddles before sunrise and pack the van for a fundraiser breakfast at a Carroll Gardens school, senior center, or block association. Since 2015, we've partnered with fourteen local organizations — PS 58, the Carroll Gardens Library, the Senior Council on Court Street, and the after-school programs that keep this neighborhood knit together. More than 30 community breakfasts a year, served at cost, with the family doing the cooking.
It's the kind of work that doesn't show up on a menu, but it's the work we're most proud of. When you eat at the diner, you're helping keep that tradition going.

Pancakes, eggs any style, our house-made corned beef hash, the marinelli omelet — all available from 6:30 AM until the kitchen closes. You can order breakfast at 9:45 PM on a Saturday and our line cooks will be happy to make it.
Yes on both. The kids' menu has smaller portions of silver-dollar pancakes, scrambled eggs, grilled cheese, and a mug of house-made tomato soup. We have two high chairs, booster seats on request, and a corner booth with room to park a stroller. Crayons and a paper menu to color come standard.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and good old cash. There's a fee-free ATM at the back of the dining room, and we never have a minimum for card payments.
The back room seats up to 32 for breakfast or lunch private events — birthday brunches, school alumni gatherings, block-association meetings, and memorial breakfasts. We do not host evening events. Takeout yes — call (718) 555-0142 and we'll have it ready in 15 minutes or less, packed in our own containers. Delivery is available through our partners at the usual apps. Catering trays (pancakes by the dozen, hash browns for a crowd, coffee urns up to 60 cups) are available with 48 hours' notice.
